# Application Introduction

OMate is an AI-based chat application designed to provide users with a personalized chat experience. You can:

🔑 Use your API, including private and unlimited local models
📖 Explore story mode to delve into the stories behind characters
🎭 Mask function, switch identities and interact deeply with AI
🧠 Long-term memory, allowing characters to remember every important moment with you
📙 Customize built-in prompts to tell stories as you wish

Setup API: For first-time use, please configure your API key in the Settings page
Create a Character: Go to the Characters page to create your first AI character, or import from the discovery page
Start a Conversation: Begin communicating with your AI character on the Chat page
